Terms of Use

Effective date: October 25, 2026

Welcome to the Open Harbor Consulting website. These Terms of Use explain the ground rules for using this site. By visiting or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

About Open Harbor Consulting

Open Harbor Consulting provides speaking, training, educational content, and organizational consulting. References to “Open Harbor,” “we,” “us,” and “our” in these terms mean Open Harbor Consulting.

This website is informational

The information on this website is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It is not a substitute for individualized professional advice, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, legal guidance, or emergency support.

Although some Open Harbor content addresses mental health, trauma, burnout, leadership, organizational health, religion, spirituality, and related subjects, visiting the website, reading its content, downloading a resource, or submitting an inquiry does not create a counselor-client, therapist-client, consultant-client, supervisory, fiduciary, or other professional relationship with Open Harbor or Chris Conley.

Any speaking, training, or consulting engagement begins only after the relevant parties have agreed to the scope and terms of that work, ordinarily through a separate written agreement.

Not crisis or emergency support

This website and its contact form are not monitored as crisis services. Do not use them to seek emergency assistance or time-sensitive mental health support.

If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact emergency services in your location. In the United States, you may call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or call 911 for an immediate emergency.

Your use of the site

You are welcome to browse the website, share links to its public pages, and use its content for your own personal, noncommercial learning. You agree not to:

  • interfere with the site’s operation or security;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or related systems;
  • use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or reproduce substantial portions of the site without permission;
  • misrepresent Open Harbor’s content, credentials, services, or relationship with you;
  • use the site or its content for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purposes; or
  • remove copyright, attribution, or other ownership notices.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the original writing, graphics, training materials, downloads, branding, photographs, videos, and other content on this website belong to Open Harbor Consulting or are used with permission. They are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

Reasonable quotation and sharing are welcome when the source is clearly credited and the use does not suggest an endorsement or partnership that does not exist. You may not copy, republish, sell, license, modify, distribute, or create commercial products from substantial portions of the site without written permission.

Open Harbor content may not be used to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or populate an artificial-intelligence system, dataset, content library, or commercial product without prior written permission.

Information you submit

If you contact Open Harbor through the website, you are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to share it. Please do not submit confidential clinical records, protected health information, sensitive personnel information, or other information that is not necessary for an initial inquiry.

Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee a response, availability, acceptance of an engagement, or any particular outcome.

Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party links and resources

This website may link to articles, organizations, publications, social platforms, videos, or other resources operated by third parties. These links are provided because they may be useful or relevant. A link does not necessarily mean that Open Harbor endorses every view, service, policy, or statement associated with that third party.

Open Harbor does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, accessibility, or privacy practices. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.

Accuracy and availability

Open Harbor works to keep the website thoughtful, accurate, and useful, but information can become outdated and occasional errors may occur. We do not promise that every page will always be complete, current, uninterrupted, or free from technical problems.

We may update, remove, or reorganize website content and services at any time.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, this website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Open Harbor does not guarantee that using the site or relying on its content will produce a particular professional, organizational, educational, financial, clinical, or personal result.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Open Harbor Consulting and Chris Conley will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, inability to use, or reliance on this website or its content.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute concerning these terms or the website will be handled in a court with appropriate jurisdiction in Virginia, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms of Use as the website, Open Harbor’s work, or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page will show when the terms were most recently updated. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
